Objectively adaptive image fusion

Multiple sensor modalities offer additional information and potentially improved robustness to a range of imaging applications but come at a price of a huge increase in raw data that needs to be processed. This can often overwhelm human observers and machine vision systems entrusted with the task of extracting useful information from the imagery. Image fusion combines information from a number of multi-sensor images into a single fused one, making processing more efficient and display of information more reliable.
